VEHICLE CRASHES INTO CONVENIENCE STORE CAUSING INJURIES - UPDATED 5/12/22

In the mid-afternoon on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, a red vehicle crashed into the windows at the Medford Co-op convenience store in Phillips.  This is not the first time this building has been struck by a vehicle.

According to Chief Hauschild, the driver was not under the influence.  The driver pulled up to the convenience store wanting to press the brake to park but accidentally pressed the gas.  The driver crashed into the glass windows, and the vehicle entered the convenience store.  A male, who was working on remodeling at the building, was injured and taken to the hospital.  He has been released.  There were a few other injuries but no one sustained serious injuries, and no one else was taken to the hospital.

There is extensive damage to the glass windows on the building, but Chief Hauschild did not have exact numbers for property damage at this time.

Thank you to the two residents who gave us information and photos to share.
