The Knox Creek Heritage Center (KCHC) in Brantwood, Wisconsin, dedicated to preserving the heritage of the pioneers that settled these great Northwoods, will be hosting its first “Mid-summer Cook-out” on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The grounds will be open at 11:00 a.m. for everyone to experience the historic buildings and artifacts. Local crafters are invited to display their wares. Homemade Finnish bread and pulla (a cardamom braid) will be available for sale. A dinner will be served with grilled burgers, brats, and hot dogs (for the kids) with all the fixings and will be served from noon until 1:30 p.m.
This is one of the four annual fund-raisers since being established in 1995. Come enjoy the afternoon with old friends and newcomers looking to reconnect with their historic roots.
KCHC is looking for anyone who can help with putting on this event; in the kitchen, serving, or cleaning up afterward. Please reach out to Kevin Wollemann, president, at 715-551-5967 to commit to helping for the day.
KCHC is also seeking individuals and families to become part of the group. By becoming a member, you can help maintain the unique historical site. There are several major projects planned and KCHC is asking for additional funds, through donations, to make these dreams come true. Any donation of time and/or money will be greatly appreciated. Some of the buildings, (there are nine), are older than 100 years and need some TLC.
