On Thursday, May 5, 2022 at approximately 11:14 a.m., the Taylor County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a 51-year old man trapped under a large tractor tire on a farm located on Pine Avenue in the Town of Little Black. The caller reported that the person may be deceased.
Taylor County law enforcement and EMS were dispatched to the scene and found the male was removed from underneath the wheel prior to arrival but there were no signs of life. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene. However, efforts were unsuccessful, and the man, Eli Mullett of Curtiss, WI, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates Elie was working on a tractor in the machine shed. At some point, the large rear tractor wheel tipped backwards onto him, trapping him. Preliminary findings indicate Eli died from asphyxiation due to injuries sustained form the incident. No foul play is suspected at this time.
