LINCOLN COUNTY POLICE REPORTS: MAY & JUNE 2022


On 05-05-2022 deputies responded to a Town of Bradley address to investigate a reported domestic disturbance.  As a result of that investigation a 31 year old male from the Tomahawk area will have 2 counts of disorderly conduct and a probation violation forwarded to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for charging. 

05-05-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a disturbance at a Town of Scott home.  As a result of that investigation a 72 year old male from the Merrill area was issued a county ordinance violation for disorderly conduct.

05-04-2022 a deputy received information from a Wausau police officer in regards to a possible impaired driver passed out behind the wheel in the lane of traffic on CTH Q near USH 51 in the Town of Pine River.  Upon investigating, the driver a 36 year old female from Waunakee, WI was taken into custody for first offense OWI, as well as possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  She was later booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

05-04-2022 a deputy responded to and investigated a one vehicle roll over crash on USH 8 by CTH A in the Town of Bradley.  The ensuing investigation revealed that the driver was reaching for a water bottle when the vehicle left the roadway.  When the driver attempted to recover the vehicle they lost control and the vehicle rolled onto its top.  The driver was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene due to damage.

05/02/2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate an incident in the Lincoln County Jail.  A 41 year old Merrill area man who is an inmate in the Lincoln County Jail spit on a Corrections Sargent.  The investigating deputy will be referring the case to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for charges of Throw/Expel Bodily Substances.

05/02/2022 deputies were dispatched to an address in the Town of Tomahawk to investigate a reported domestic battery.  Following an investigation a 46 year old Tomahawk area man was located by the Oneida County Sheriff’s and taken into custody and turned over to a deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Lincoln County Jail on a charge of domestic battery.

During this week period there were 2 reported car deer crashes, and  1 car vs bear.

On 05-15-2022 deputies investigated a battery that took place at Holly’s bar in the Town of Bradley.  A male subject reported being struck in the back of the head.  The victim went to get medical aid on his own.  No suspect information is available at this time no arrests have been made.

05-15-2022 deputies investigated a motor vehicle crash that took place on Joe Snow Rd. in the Town of Scott.  According to the investing deputy the vehicle was being operated east bound on Joe Snow Rd. when it left the roadway and struck a power pole.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the driver had left the scene.  Deputies located the driver a 32 year old Merrill woman later in the evening.  The crash is still under investigation, no arrests have been made, and it is believed that alcohol was a factor.  The driver claimed no injuries.

05-15-2022 while investigating a previous car crash, on scene deputies were advised of another car crash in the area on Fairview Rd. in the Town of Scott.  Upon investigating the second crash the driver was located and found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  SFSTs were preformed and as a result of those tests the driver a 32 year old Merrill man was arrested for 1st offense OWI.  The driver was transported to the Lincoln County jail.  No injuries were reported due to the crash.

05-15-2022 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on USH 8 and CTH A in the Town of Bradley.  The driver of the vehicle a 34 year old Hartford, WI man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  SFST’s were preformed and as a result of those tests the driver was arrested for 2nd offense OWI.  The driver was found to be 2 times the legal limit for driving.  The driver was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and booked for the second offense OWI.

05/15/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on USH 8 and Martin Rd. in the Town of Somo.  The driver a 33 year old Saukville, Wi man was found to have been drinking and was put through SFSTs.  The driver was found not to be over the limit.  He was cited for traveling 81mph in a 45mph zone.

05/14/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a registration violation on North 4th ST and River St. in the City of Tomahawk.  The driver a 27 year old Tomahawk, Wi woman was found to have been under the influence of intoxicants.  SFSTs were preformed and as a result of those tests the driver was arrested for 1st offense OWI.  The driver was later released to a responsible party.

On 05/14/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on CTH C and Holdorf Rd. in the Town of Schley.  The driver a 18 year old Antigo, Wi man was found to have been under the influence of intoxicants and was put through SFSTs.  As a result of those tests the driver was arrested for a first offense OWI.  He was also cited for speeding and third offense under age alcohol violation.  The driver was found to be 2 times the legal limit allowed for driving.  The driver was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

On 05/13/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on CTH X and Spring Brook Rd. in the Town of Pine River.  The driver a 54 year old Ringle, Wi man was found to have been under the influence of intoxicants and was put through SFSTs.  As a result of those tests the driver was arrested for a first offense OWI.  The driver was found to be twice the legal limit.  He was later released to a responsible party.

On 05/12/2022 a deputies responded to a report of a disorderly subject at a residence on CTH W in the Town of Pine River.  Upon investigating it was learned that the suspect a 32 year old Merrill, WI man was reported to be disorderly and damaged property.  The subject was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct, bail jumping, and criminal damage to property.  No injuries were reported.

On 05/10/2022 deputies were dispatched to an address on North Country Ct. in the Town of Bradley for report of a female subject being disorderly.  Upon investigating it was found that a 46 year old Green Bay, WI woman had been drinking and was acting disorderly causing a disturbance.  As a result she was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 05/14/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on CTH C and Holdorf Rd. in the Town of Schley.  The driver a 18 year old Antigo, Wi man was found to have been under the influence of intoxicants and was put through SFSTs.  As a result of those tests the driver was arrested for a first offense OWI.  He was also cited for speeding and third offense under age alcohol violation.  The driver was found to be 2 times the legal limit allowed for driving.  The driver was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

On 05/10/2022 deputies were assigned to investigate a domestic incident that took place at an address on CTH JJ in the Town of Merrill.  As a result of that investigation a 35 year old Irma, Wi man was arrested for domestic related disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.  No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

During this week period there was 1 reported car deer crash.

05-16-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a violation of a court order.  It is ordered by the court that the suspect, a 49 year old Gleason area man is to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s employer.  The investigation revealed that the suspect did contact the victim’s employer and give him a hard time about employing the victim.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was booked in for violating the court order.

On 05-17-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate an incident that occurred in the Lincoln County Jail in the City of Merrill.  A 40 year old Merrill man who is an inmate in the Lincoln County Jail spit on a corrections officer striking them in the face.  The case is being sent to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s office for charges to be filed against the inmate.  The corrections officer was not injured.

05/19/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle speeding on USH 51 near Lincoln Dr. in the Town of Merrill.  The driver a 19 year old Rhinelander man stated he was on his way to Wausau for a friend of his who was in crisis.  The subject was not a valid driver and on probation.  Wausau Police Dept. was contacted to do a welfare check on the friend.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.  It was later reported by Wausau PD that the claim of the friend being in crisis was unfounded.

05/19/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle following a check on the vehicle’s registration showed the owner was not a valid driver.  Stop location was on Mohawk Dr. in the City of Tomahawk.  As a result of that stop the driver a 23 year old Tomahawk, WI woman was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.    SFSTs were preformed and as a result of those tests the driver was placed under arrest for second offense drunk driving.  The woman was also arrested for two counts of bail jumping for violating the terms of a previous open court case.

On 05-19-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate an incident that occurred in the Lincoln County Jail in the City of Merrill.  A 35 year old Merrill man who is an inmate in the Lincoln County Jail became involved in an altercation with another inmate a 26 year old Mosinee man.  Following the investigation the Merrill man was given a county ordinance violation for disorderly conduct.  No injuries were reported.

05-19-2022 while on routine patrol a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having license plates.  Stop location was on Center Ave in the City of Merrill.  Upon further investigation it was learned that the driver, a 20 year old Wausau man did not have a valid driver’s license or car insurance.  The driver was cited for operating while revoked fourth offense or more and no insurance.

On 05-21-2022 responded to the area of USH 51 and CTH J in the Town of Birch for reported domestic disturbance.  Upon investigating it was found that a 37 year old Stevens Point man and a 31 year old Merrill woman became involved in an argument.  The argument was reported to be verbal only with no physical contact.  No arrests were made as a result of the domestic, however in was discovered that there was an active warrant for the arrest of the Merrill woman.  As a result she was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant.

On 05-21-2022 the resource deputy was on routine patrol on the Hiawatha trail in the Town of Bradley.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the UTV.  Upon further investigation it was learned that the operator of the UTV a 76 year old Florida man was under the influence of intoxicants.  The operator was put through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests he was arrested for 1st offense OWI of an ATV.  He was later released to a responsible party.

On 05-21-2022 deputies were dispatched to the area of STH 17 and Smith Rd. in the Town of Merrill for a vehicle that was reported to be in the ditch.  According to the reporting party, the driver was the suspect vehicle was trying to get his vehicle out of the ditch and made comments that he needed to leave in a hurry.  The reporting party stated the driver was also stumbling around.  Upon arrival the deputies made contact with a 63 year old Merrill man who was identified as the driver.  The driver was found to be under the influence of intoxicants and was put through a series of SFSTs.  As a result of those tests the driver was placed under arrest for first offense OWI.  The driver was not injured and the vehicle was not damaged as a result of going in the ditch.

On 05-22-2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on STH 17 near Gross Ln in the Town of Russell.  As a result of that stop, the driver a 39 year old Marshfield man was cited for traveling 90mph in a 55mph zone.
 
During this week period there was 4 reported car deer crash.

05-23-2022 a 23 year old Wausau man reported that while fishing off Beach Rd. in the Town of Bradley someone slashed all four of the tires on his car.  The victim reported to the responding deputy that the only vehicle he noticed all day was a 4x4.  The sheriff’s office is currently looking for suspects.  Anyone who may have information is encouraged to notify the sheriff’s office.   

On 05-23-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a disturbance at the Prairie Trails Park in the Town of Merrill.  It was reported that two siblings, a brother and sister had gotten involved in a physical fight.  As a result of the fight the female was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by private auto to be checked for possible injuries.  The incident is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made as of yet. 

05/23/2022 a deputy was dispatched to the area CTH K and USH 51 in the Town of Birch to investigate a stopped alongside the road with a male subject laying on the ground.  Upon arrival the deputy found the driver of the vehicle a 37 year old Rhinelander man, and he was under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was put through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was arrested for first offense OWI.  The man was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

05/24/2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a disturbance that was reported to have been physical between an adult Merrill man and a juvenile Merrill male.  The disturbance took place at an address on CTH C in the Town of Schley.  The investigation revealed that the two parties live together and became involved in a verbal argument over alleged poor behavior on the juveniles part.  During the argument the disturbance turned into a physical fight.  As a result the adult male was arrested on charges of child abuse, strangulation/suffocation, and resisting arrest.  The subject was transported to and booked into the Lincoln County Jail.  No significant injuries were reported to LISO.

On 05/26/2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a disturbance that had taken place on Heafford Rd. in the Town of Bradley.  The disturbance was between a 60 year old Tomahawk area man and his 30 year old son also of Tomahawk.  Investigation that the son had damaged property and threatened to kill everyone.  It was also learned that the son had previously been released on bond for a different criminal charge.  As a result the son was arrested for bail jumping and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. 

On 05/26/2022 a deputies were dispatched to an address on Prairie Dr. in the Town of Schley. A juvenile female from Merrill was reporting that she was fighting with her adult brother, and she was afraid to be home with him.  Pares were not home at the time of the call.  During the fight it was reported that the brother threw a water bottle at his sister and struck her.  As a result of the fight, the brother was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was booked in for bail jumping, child abuse – intentionally cause harm, and disorderly conduct.  Merrill ambulance was requested to respond to check on the injuries of the juvenile female.

On 05-27-2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Hillside Dr. near Woodhaven Ln. in the Town of Merrill for driving in a disorderly manner.  The driver an 18 year old Merrill man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The deputy ran the driver through SFST’s and as a result of those tests the driver was arrested for a violation of absolute sobriety.

On 05/27/2022 a deputy on routine patrol located a motorcycle traveling north bound on CTH W at Alpine Rd. in the Town of Pine River.  The deputy had the vehicle on radar at 90mph in a 55mph.  The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle but the driver refused to stop leading the deputy on a short chase.  The deputy ultimately terminated the chase for safety reasons.  The motorcycle was described as being similar to a black Harley Davidson with an older male driving it.  The driver was not wearing a helmet and had salt and pepper type beard.  No arrests have been made as of yet. 

On 05-28-2022 a deputies were dispatched to a location on Maple Rd. in the Town of Pine River for a reported violation of a no contact order.  It was reported that the suspect a 44 year old Merrill woman and a 41 year old Merrill man were not to have contact with one another.  The suspect advised she had nowhere else to live so she was staying there.  The female had previously been released on bond for two separate charges.  As a result she was arrested for two counts of bail jumping and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

05-28-2022 a deputy was advised of a vehicle in the ditch on STH 17 near CTH G in the Town of Merrill.  Upon arrival on scene the deputy did find a car in the ditch with the diver a 30 year old Merrill woman sitting in the driver seat with no one else in the car.  The driver was found to be under the influence of intoxicants and was ran through SFST’s.  As a result of those tests she was arrested for second offense OWI.  She was transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 05-29-2022 a deputy on routine patrol in the area of USH 51 and CTH D in the Town of Bradley observed a drone flying over low and in traffic over USH 51.  The deputy patrolled the area and was unable to locate a pilot.  Drone operators are reminded to fly responsibly when piloting their drones and you could be held responsible if something were to happen as a result of your actions.  There are also rules and regulations for proper drone flying which can be found at the FAA’s web site.

On 05-29-2022 deputies were called to a one vehicle car crash at STH 17 and CTH C in the Town of Schley.  Upon arrival the deputies found an exotic sports car totaled with evidence of the driver being injured.  There was also evidence that the vehicle may have struck a deer before losing control and crashing.  The owner/driver a 41 year old Merrill man was not on scene and presently has not been located.  Local hospitals were also contacted with no one coming in for treatment.  Speed is believed to be a factor the crash is still under investigation.

During this week period there was 14 reported car deer crash.

On 05-30-2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle North 4th St and Somo Ave in the City of Tomahawk for minor traffic violations.  As a result of that stop the driver of the vehicle a 30 year old Tomahawk man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The deputy ran the driver through a series of SFST’s and as a result of those tests the driver was arrested for second offense drunk driving.  At the hospital the male resisted deputies while hospital staff attempted to get a sample of blood for testing.  Along with the second offense OWI the defendant was arrested on resisting arrest, and two counts of bail jumping as he had previously been released by the courts for different cases.  No injuries were reported.

On 05-30-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a reported burglary at a set of storage units in the Town of Bradley.  It was reported that at least ½ dozen locks had been cut off of the storage units, and at least one unit was missing items.  At this time the deputy is investigating some leads, and he is being assisted by the sheriff Office’s detective bureau.

05/30/2022 a deputies were dispatched to the area of STH 17 and old highway 17 in the Town of Schley for a reported vehicle crash with injuries.  Per investigating deputies it was determined that the vehicle suffered a mechanical problem that lead to the driver losing control causing the crash.  Once passenger from the car was transported by ambulance to Merrill Aspirus Good Samaritan Hospital.  The driver a 35 year old Phelps, WI woman was cited for operating without a license, and improper registration.

On 05-30-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a reported burglary at a set of storage units in the Town of Tomahawk.  It was reported that several locks had been cut off of the storage units, and at least one unit was missing items.  At this time the deputy is investigating some leads, and he is being assisted by the sheriff Office’s detective bureau.

On 05/30/2022 deputies were assigned to investigate a disturbance that had taken place on Honeymoon Bay Rd. in the Town of Bradley.  The disturbance was between a 73 year old Kenosha, WI area man and his 40 year old son who is from Portage, WI.  The father reported that his son has been becoming more aggressive with him and its worse when he is drinking.  The son was located and did appear to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The son became aggressive towards deputies prior to being placed under arrest by deputies, and remained uncooperative throughout the contact.  He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

On 06/2/2022 deputies were dispatched to an address on French Ridge Rd. in the Town of Pine River to investigate a violation of court order.  As a result of the investigation a 44 year old Merrill woman was arrest and brought to the Lincoln County Jail.  She was booked on three counts of bail jumping for violating the terms of three open court cases she has.

On 06-3-2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on STH 86 and CTH E in the Town of Bradley for minor traffic violations.  As a result of that stop the driver of the vehicle a 52 year old Tomahawk man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The deputy ran the driver through a series of SFST’s and as a result of those tests the driver was arrested for first offense drunk driving.  The driver was unable to find a responsible party to get him so he was transported to the Lincoln County Jail. 

During this week period there was 9 reported car deer crash and 1 car bear crash.

On 06-09-2022 a K9 deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on CTH P near Logan Rd. in the Town of Pine River for minor traffic violations.  Upon deploying his K9 partner the dog had a positive alert on the vehicle.  Following the investigation a 34 year old Tripoli man was arrested for criminal operating after revocation, felony bail jumping, and possession of meth paraphernalia.  He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 06-10-2022 deputies were dispatched to the area of USH 51 and CTH H in the Town of Rock Falls for a reported two car crash with injuries.  The two vehicles were traveling N/B on USH 51 when the vehicle in the right lane suffered a mechanical issue causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and enter the left lane striking the second vehicle.  Minor injuries were reported as the result of the crash.  No citations were issued.

06/10/2022 deputies were dispatched an address on Carpenter Rd. in the Town of Somo for a reported Burglary in progress.  The home owner reported to dispatch that his game camera alerted him by cell phone to someone being on his property.  The home owner reported that no one had permission to be on the property.  Upon arriving on scene the first deputy located the suspect in the shed by the home and he was putting items into his pockets.  The deputy made contact with a 22 year old Merrill, WI man.  Additional deputies arrived and scene and they took the subject into custody and transported him to the Lincoln County Jail.  While in route to the jail the subject became belligerent and banging his head against the protective cage in the squad causing him to suffer a head injury.  The subject then kicked a window out of the squad.    The suspect was then removed from the squad along the highway and an ambulance was called to treat him for the head injury and transport him to the hospital for medical clearance.  At the hospital the subject remained disorderly screaming, swearing, spitting, and urinating himself.  He was later brought to jail and booked in on several criminal charges as well as a probation hold.  No deputies were injured during this encounter.

On 06-10-2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on USH 51 near CTH Q in the Town of Pine River for an equipment violation.  A K9 officer from the City of Merrill was requested to assist with the stop.  The officer deployed his K9 partner which indicated a positive alert on the car.  The driver of the car a 37 year old male from Marshfield, WI was found to be impaired and ran through a series of SFSTs.  Following those tests the driver was arrested for OWI as well as possession of Meth and Marijuana.  The subject was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and turned over to corrections officers.

On 06/11/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on USH 51 at USH 8.  The driver of the vehicle a 33 year old McHenry, IL man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was put through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests he was arrested for first offense OWI.  The deputy also located several firearms in the vehicle.  The driver was also booked on operating a firearm while intoxicated.  He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was turned over to corrections officers.

On 06/11/2022 deputies were dispatched to the area of STH 107 and Tug Lake Rd in the Town of Rock Falls for a reported vehicle crash.  Upon arrival deputies located and detained a 35 year old Irma, WI man.  Upon further investigation the driver was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  He was arrested for fifth offense OWI, operating after revocation, and felony bail jumping.  He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was turned over to corrections officers.  No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

On 06-11-2022 deputies were dispatched to the area STH 86 and CTH YY in the Town of Tomahawk for a reported ATV crash with injuries.  It was reported that a lead ATV was turning around on the trail when the second ATV operator a 50 year old Ogema, WI woman came over the hill and thought she was going to collide with the first ATV.  As a result she applied the brakes to avoid the collision.  The woman lost control of her ATV and was ejected from the ATV and the ATV rolled coming to a rest on the woman.  Lifelink medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene and transported the woman with unknown injuries.  As of this time the crash is still under investigation.  The woman was not wearing a helmet.

During this week period there was 12 reported car deer crash and 1 car bear crash.

On 06-13-2022 deputies were dispatched to an address on CTH P in the Town of Pine River for a domestic disturbance involving a gun.  It was reported that two subjects a 59 year old Merrill woman and her 56 year old husband were fighting over a gun after one threatened the other.  The gun was removed from the situation prior to deputies arriving on scene.  Upon investigating the male was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.  It was alleged that the gun was never loaded.  The male was transported to Aspirus Merrill Hospital for medical clearance due to a high level of intoxication, and when cleared he was brought to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 06-13-2022 A K9 deputy on routine patrol with his partner “Poncho” observed a vehicle on CTH W in the Town of Pine River with an equipment violation.  When the deputy attempted to turn around to stop the vehicle the driver a 33 year old Schofield, Wi woman attempted to evade the deputy by pulling into a driveway.  The deputy pulled down the road to wait and after a short time the woman pulled out of the driveway.  As soon as she saw that the deputy was still there she pulled into a second driveway.  At the second location she drove around some buildings and left a short time later at which time the deputy stopped the vehicle.  Upon stopping the vehicle and investigating the deputy deployed his K9 partner “Poncho”.  After a short time “Poncho:” indicated a positive alert on the vehicle.  Upon searching the vehicle nothing was found.  The deputy returned to the last address the suspect had pulled into and talked to the home owner.  That owner stated that the suspect pulled behind the buildings in an attempt to hide.  At that point a male subject got out of the car and fled into the woods.  The home owner stated they saw the male subject drop a backpack in the woods.  The female then left the property driving over the home owner’s new septic system causing damage.  Based on this information the deputy went and recovered the backpack which contained illegal drug items.  He then also placed the female under arrest.  She was cooked into the Lincoln County Jail on 3 counts of felony bail jumping, 1 count of misdemeanor bail jumping. Criminal damage to property, possession of methamphetamine, possess with intent to distribute amphetamine, and obstructing an officer.  The male subject was not located.

06/14/2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a fight that occurred between two inmates at the Lincoln County Jail.  Upon investigating the deputy found the fight was between a 24 year old Kronenwetter, WI man and a 22 year old Racine, WI man.  Neither of the inmates wished to cooperate with the investigation.  Charges will be referred against the Racine, Wi man to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for battery by a prisoner.

On 06-15-2022 a deputy dispatched to an address on CTH CC in the Town of Bradley for a reported burglary.  It was reported the victim went to the property found the door to one of the buildings open and his lawn mower was missing.  The owner of the property was also reporting items missing such as an enclosed car hauler trailer.  The following day 06-16-2022 detectives with the sheriff’s office while conducting an investigation in the area recovered several stolen items including the items listed above clearing up multiple burglaries.  Several individuals were taken into custody.  This investigation is ongoing.

On 06/17/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on CTH A near Red Oak Ln in the town of Bradley.  The driver of the vehicle a 62 year old Tomahawk, WI woman was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was put through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests he was arrested for first offense OWI.  The driver was later released to a responsible party.

On 06/17/2022 deputies were dispatched to the area of USH 51 and the 229 mile marker for a reported motor vehicle crash with injuries.  Upon arrival deputies found the driver a 28 year old Schofield, Wi man suffering from chest pain, from his seat belt and the vehicle airbags being deployed.  Subject was checked by Tomahawk area EMS and refused transport.  The driver stated he dose off while driving and struck the guard rail.  No citations were issued.

On 06-17-2022 a deputy was assigned to investigate a theft by contractor complaint.  The victim reported that in March he and his wife hired a 31 year old Tomahawk, Wi man as a contractor to do some work, paid the contractor $24,000, and the work was supposed to start April 1st.  As of this date the contractor has only finished a portion of the complete project.  This report will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s office for review and possible charges.

On 06-19-2022 A K9 deputy on routine patrol with his partner “Poncho” observed a vehicle on CTH W in the Town of Pine River with an equipment violation.  A check on the vehicle’s registration revealed that the owner of the car a 39 year old Lac Du Flambeau, WI man did not have a valid driver’s license.  After stopping the vehicle the driver confirmed his license was revoked.  Also present in the car was a 37 year old man and a 30 woman both of Lac Du Flambeau, WI.  Based on his initial contact the deputy deployed his K9 partner “Poncho”.  After a short time “Poncho:” indicated a positive alert on the vehicle.  Upon searching the vehicle several illegal drug related items were found.  The woman stated that one of the male subjects threw a large bag of heroin out the car window when they saw the deputy.  She had hoped her cooperation would lead to her being released.  All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.  Upon arrival at the jail it was discovered the woman had a large amount of drugs and drug equipment concealed on her person.  The three were booked on various charges of felony bail jumping, delivering articles to jail, manufacturing/deliver of heroin, manufacturing/deliver of amphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of illegally obtained prescriptions, possession with intent to manufacture/deliver cocaine, and obstructing an officer.

During this week period there was 4 reported car deer crashes.

On 06-22-2022 deputies were alerted to a possible drunk driver in the area of USH 51and CTH Q in the Town of Pine River.  The first deputy in the area located the suspect vehicle and stopped it for the reported violation.  Upon making contact with the driver a 39 year old Merrill, WI man he was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was put through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was placed under arrest for first offense OWI, and operating without a license.

On 06-23-2022 Deputies were called to an address on Sunset Dr. in the Town of Merrill for a reported domestic disturbance.  It was reported that a 17 year old Merrill, WI man was assaulting his sister an 18 woman and his mother a 41 year old woman both of Merrill.  Investigating deputies learned that the offender was experiencing anger issues and lashed out at his family.  As a result of this incident he was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail for a count of disorderly conduct.

06/24/2022 a deputy on routine patrol and stopped a vehicle for speeding violation in the City of Merrill.  When stopped the driver a 41 year old Merrill, WI woman was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The woman was placed through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was arrested for first offense OWI.  2102200626
On 06-24-2022 a deputy don routine patrol sopped a vehicle for speeding 94mph in a 55mpz zone.  The violation took place on STH 17 near Prairie Dr. in the Town of Schley.  When stopped the driver, a 19 year old Merrill, WI man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  As a result the driver was placed through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was arrested for a first offense OWI and underage drinking.

On 06/25/2022 a deputy on routine patrol observed a vehicle that was weaving on the road appearing to be a possible impaired driver.  The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver a 29 year old Wild Rose, WI man was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was placed through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests he was arrested for second offense drunk driving and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 06/26/2022 a deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation.  The driver a 19 year old Merrill, WI woman was found to have been consuming an intoxicating beverage.  The driver was placed through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was arrested for a violation of absolute sobriety.  The woman was later released to a responsible party.

On 06-26-2022 a deputy on routine patrol observed a vehicle that was being operated in a suspicious manner on Cattail Ln near CTH S in Town of Bradley.  While following the vehicle the driver twice pulled into a private drive way to try and throw the deputy off.  After the second driveway the deputy and a backup deputy made contact with the vehicle and found that the driver a 19 year old Tomahawk, WI man had fled on foot into the woods.  After a short time the driver returned and was found to be under the influence of intoxicants.  The driver was placed through a series of SFSTs and as a result of those tests was arrested for OWI.  The driver was later brought to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 06-26-2022 Deputies assisted the Merrill Police Department with a vehicle pursuit.  A Merrill Police Office attempted to make contact with a vehicle for a registration violation.  When the Officer attempted to stop the vehicle the driver fled first o foot then in his vehicle.  The pursuit continued to a point where it left the City of Merrill and entered into the Town of Pine River.  At this point deputies took over the pursuit as it continued E/B on STH 64.  Speeds approached 105 to 110mph.  The driver a 32 year old Merrill, WI man traveled N/B on CTH X until his vehicle left the road and crashed in the area of CTH X and CTH C. After another brief foot chase the driver was taken into custody.  The reason for the suspect’s fleeing was because there was a warrant for his arrest through Marathon County.  He was also booked for a charge of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, 2 counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, and resisting an officer.

During this week period there was 8 reported car deer crashes.
