LINCOLN COUNTY: THREE PEOPLE INJURED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, at approximately 7:48 a.m., a 911 call was received reporting a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the Township of Scott.  The crash involved two vehicles at the intersection of County Hwy. Q (CTH Q) and Joe Snow Road.

According to interviews during a preliminary investigation, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has concluded that a 63-year old Merrill man was operating an SUV with an adult female and two children southbound on CTH Q.  The SUV was struck by a pick-up truck operated by a 61-year old Merrill man who ran the stop sign located on the westbound lane of Joe Snow Road.

The adult female and one of the children were transported to the hospital for significant injuries.  The other child was transported to a children's hospital for serious injuries.  None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.  Neither of the male drivers were injured in the accident.

The operator of the pick-up truck will be cited for "Failure to Stop at Stop Sign - Cause Great Bodily Harm," and other citations may be given based on further investigation.
