The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a head-on snowmobile crash on Friday, February 24, 2023 at approximately 6:59 p.m. The crash occurred on Kelly Dam Road, north of Old 8 Road in the Town of Little Rice.
Emergency services responded, and a 55-year old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of the family.
The other driver was transported to the hospital in Tomahawk with, what appear to be, non-life threatening injuries.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will complete the accident report. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Little Rice Fire Department, Little Rice First Responders, Nokomis Fire Department, DNR, Oneida County Ambulance Service and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Department.
