According to the Vilas County Sheriff's Office, at 11:27 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, a call was received from the school resource officer at Northland Pines High School. The caller reported a disturbance due to a custodial interference incident. The disturbance was occurring in the main office of the St. Germain Elementary School.
The school resource officer placed the school into lock down.
Vilas County Sheriff’s deputies, along with a WI DNR Warden, arrived to the scene. A 63-year-old man, Ronald D. Olsen Sr., was arrested for causing the disturbance. Upon investigation, there was no direct threat to the students, staff, or school.
